Los Angeles – October 16, 2026 -- TORL BioTherapeutics has appointed Sandip Kapadia as Chief Financial Officer, a executive who has raised more than $2 billion in public capital for emerging biotechnology companies, and Eric Sievers, M.D., as Chief Medical Officer, completing a year-long expansion of its leadership team.
TORL prepares lead antibody-drug conjugate for late-stage development
The clinical-stage oncology company is advancing its antibody-based portfolio toward late-stage development and potential commercialization. Its lead asset, ixotatug vedotin (Ixo-V), is being evaluated in platinum-resistant ovarian cancer and other cancers that express CLDN6, including germ cell tumors, and in various combinations. Ixo-V has FDA Fast Track designation.
TORL describes Ixo-V as the first and only antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) that selectively targets Claudin 6 (CLDN6) using a proven monomethyl auristatin E (MMAE) linker-payload construct.
Kapadia brings 30 years of capital formation and commercial experience
Kapadia has more than 30 years of life sciences experience in growth strategy, capital formation and commercial execution. He most recently served as Chief Financial and Administrative Officer at Harmony Biosciences during its transition to a profitable commercial-stage biotechnology company.
CEO Aran Maree, M.D., said Kapadia's strategic and financial leadership will be instrumental as TORL enters its next phase of growth, organizational scale and late-stage clinical development for Ixo-V.
Sievers led ADCETRIS development from IND to FDA approval
Sievers has more than three decades of clinical and translational research experience, focused on ADCs for hematologic malignancies and solid tumors. He most recently was Chief Medical Officer at BioAtla. His record spans first-in-human studies, pivotal trials and regulatory submissions.
Earlier in his career, he led clinical development of ADCETRIS from Investigational New Drug (IND) stage through initial FDA approval. He was also a lead investigator in the first-in-human and pivotal trials supporting the initial approval of MYLOTARG.
Chairman Mark Alles retires after joining in 2022
Separately, Mark Alles retired as Chairman of the Board at the end of September. Since joining TORL in 2022, he served as Board Manager, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman, and led the company through what it describes as a period of significant financial, clinical and organizational growth. Alles will remain a strategic advisor.
The company's early pipeline includes the Phase 1 hematology asset TORL-5-700 and other undisclosed programs. TORL has raised more than $450 million from global biotechnology investors to date.
