Toyota's Electrified Sales Jump 37.8% in September, Hit 58.2% of Volume

Plano, Texas – October 01, 2026 -- Toyota Motor North America (TMNA) reported September 2026 U.S. sales of 201,306 vehicles, up 8.4 percent year-over-year, with electrified vehicles accounting for 58.2 percent of that volume.

September electrified vehicle sales surge 37.8 percent to 117,215 units

Electrified sales rose 37.8 percent on a volume basis and 32.2 percent on a daily selling rate (DSR) basis in September compared to the same month in 2025. TMNA now offers 32 electrified vehicle options across the Toyota and Lexus brands.

Third-quarter electrified sales climb 28.5 percent to 363,367 units

For the third quarter, TMNA sold 633,223 vehicles total, up 0.6 percent on both volume and DSR bases versus Q3 2025. Electrified vehicles made up 57.4 percent of that quarterly volume, totaling 363,367 units sold, a 28.5 percent increase.

Toyota division posts best-ever electrification mix of 61 percent

Toyota division sold 171,469 vehicles in September, up 7.9 percent, with electrified sales reaching 104,105 units, a 36.6 percent increase. For the quarter, Toyota division sold 540,167 vehicles, up 0.5 percent, with electrified sales of 325,227 units, up 29.2 percent.

Lexus division electrified sales jump 47.4 percent in September

Lexus division reported September sales of 29,837 vehicles, up 11.4 percent, with electrified vehicle sales of 13,110 units, a 47.4 percent increase. For the third quarter, Lexus sold 93,056 vehicles, up 1.6 percent, with electrified sales of 38,140 units, up 23.1 percent.

Andrew Gilleland, senior vice president of Automotive Operations Group at TMNA, said the quarterly results reflect a multi-path strategy giving customers options across affordability and electrification. TMNA noted it maintained among the lowest incentive levels of any full-line manufacturer during the period.
