New Taipei City – September 21, 2026 -- UD info's DB Series SSD Drives have achieved FIPS 140-3 validation from the National Institute of Standards and Technology's Cryptographic Module Validation Program, with NIST Certificate No. 5479 issued August 12, 2026, confirming Overall Level 2 status.
Certificate confirms Overall Level 2 validation for DB Series cryptographic module
The validation provides independent third-party assurance that the DB Series meets federal cryptographic security requirements, addressing procurement mandates in government, critical infrastructure, and other regulated sectors. NIST CMVP validation is a common prerequisite for federal and defense-adjacent storage procurement in the United States.
Milestone caps a three-year certification roadmap spanning FIPS 140-2 and Common Criteria
UD info validated its DA Series under FIPS 140-2 in 2024 and secured Common Criteria certification in 2025. The DB Series FIPS 140-3 validation completes this three-year sequence, giving the company a layered set of independently verified security credentials across its storage lineup.
"FIPS 140-3 validation reflects our commitment to security backed by independent validation," said Gibson Chen, General Manager of UD info. "It strengthens our ability to help customers meet compliance requirements while delivering the performance, reliability, and long-term availability required for mission-critical applications."
DB Series ships in five certified configurations with AES-XTS-256 encryption
The DB Series is available in five certified configurations combining hardware-based AES-XTS-256 encryption with NVMe PCIe performance and support for the TCG Opal Security Subsystem Class (SSC) protocol. The product line is engineered for diverse system architectures and deployment environments.
UD info stated it will continue investing in certification, encryption, and firmware development to expand its secure storage portfolio for security-sensitive applications.
