Rotterdam – September 08, 2026 -- United Imaging has secured CE Mark certification for the uCT SiriuX and uCT SiriuX Ultrix, clearing what the company calls the world's first dual wide-coverage computed tomography family for commercial sale across Europe.
CE Mark Clears Twin-Ring Gantry System for European Sale
The certification covers a platform built on a Twin-Ring Gantry architecture, integrating dual-wide 16 cm Ultrix detectors with two liquid-metal-bearing X-ray tubes. The approval allows United Imaging to bring the systems into clinical use throughout the European market.
Dual 16 cm Detectors Enable Three New Imaging Capabilities
The platform targets three specific applications: synchronized whole-organ dynamic imaging designed to capture physiological processes with high temporal and spatial detail; ultra-high-resolution imaging across a 16 cm coverage field for fine anatomical detail; and ultra-high-resolution whole-body spectral imaging intended for material characterization and quantitative diagnostics.
Stefan Ulzheimer, General Manager of CT at United Imaging Healthcare Europe, said the architecture marks a departure from conventional CT design after more than two decades of work in the field. He described SiriuX as a new approach to combining high temporal and spatial resolution with optimized spectral imaging, developed through direct dialogue with European clinical partners.
