Espoo – September 23, 2026 -- Valmet has secured an order to supply a complete coated board making line, automation, and lifecycle services to a customer in Asia, with the new machine scheduled to start up in 2028.
Valmet delivers full production scope from stock preparation to winders
The order covers stock preparation and a complete board machine spanning headboxes to reel and winders. Lifecycle performance will be secured through automation, digital services, and paper machine clothing and spare parts packages.
Customer targets leadership in premium coated board segment
The line will produce premium-quality coated board grades, supporting the buyer's ambition to strengthen its position as a leading producer in the segment. Valmet stated the delivery is designed to combine quality and production efficiency beyond the customer's current capabilities.
Valmet cites prior Asia deliveries as productivity benchmarks
Markus Veikkola, Sales Director for China and Asia Pacific at Valmet's Packaging and Paper Machines unit, said earlier deliveries of similar production lines to the Asia region rank among the highest productivity and quality benchmarks in the area. He added that combining advanced board making technologies, automation, and lifecycle services into one integrated delivery supports reliable operations and sustainable performance over the investment's lifecycle.
Order books into Valmet's third-quarter 2026 results, value undisclosed
The order is included in Valmet's orders received for the third quarter of 2026. Valmet did not disclose the value of the contract.
