Broomfield – October 12, 2026 -- Viega North America has launched Cleaned and Bagged, a warrantied line of press fittings and valves cleaned to Cleaned for Oxygen Service (CFOS) requirements and individually sealed for systems requiring purity up to 6N (99.9999%).
Each component is cleaned, inspected and sealed in an ISO Class 8 environment
Every fitting and valve is processed in a controlled environment meeting ISO Class 8 cleanliness requirements or better. The cleaning process targets particles, hydrocarbons, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), silicone, salts, chlorides, fibers and corrosion products. Individual packaging is meant to keep components clean through transport, storage and jobsite handling until installation.
Viega says it is one of the only press connection manufacturers to offer a warrantied cleaned-and-bagged product. The source does not specify warranty terms. Referenced standards include ASTM G93, CGA G-4.1, CGA G-7.1, MSS SP-138 and ISO 8573.
Target sectors range from semiconductors to lithium battery plants
The line is aimed at pharmaceutical manufacturing, semiconductor and microelectronics facilities, research laboratories, advanced and precision manufacturing, industrial gas distribution and lithium battery manufacturing. Viega also positions the CFOS-based cleaning for laboratory gases and other high-purity systems beyond CFOS's traditional scope.
Existing press tools and crews cut labor and schedule risk
The fittings are compatible with existing Viega press tools, so contractors can use the same crews and installation process. Lars Erkelenz, Vice President of Product Management at Viega North America, described the line as "a scalable extension of our proven press systems." He said factory-managed cleaning, inspection and packaging gives customers more control than fittings cleaned on-site or after purchase, and helps reduce labor requirements and schedule risk.
As with other Viega press systems, installation requires no hot work, which the company ties to flame-free, consistent connections and reduced preparation on site.
Medical gas and FDA food-contact applications are excluded
Viega states the products are not for use in medical gas systems governed by NFPA 99 or in FDA food-contact applications.
