VOCO Launches Fluorescence-on-Demand Portfolio Across Temporary Luting, Core Build-Up, and Aligner Workflows

SHERIDAN, WYOMING -- June 15, 2026 -- VOCO has introduced a range of fluorescent dental materials spanning temporary luting, temporary filling, core build-up, and aligner attachment workflows. The four products — Bifix Temp fluorescent, Clip F fluorescent, Rebilda DC fluorescent, and AlignerFlow LC — each carry UV-A-activated fluorescence that makes excess material and residues visible without altering aesthetics under natural light. The approach addresses a practical clinical problem: material residues that are difficult to detect with the naked eye but consequential for the quality of subsequent restorations and treatments.

UV-A Fluorescence Makes Residue Detection Practical at the Chair

The common operating principle across all four products is the same. Under natural light, each material presents with tooth-like, dentine-matched, or translucent shading that preserves aesthetics. Under a standard UV-A lamp, the material fluoresces intensively, making excess and residues clearly visible for targeted removal. No specialist equipment beyond a UV-A lamp is required. The result is faster, more complete removal of material traces — particularly relevant in thin layers or at subgingival levels where naked-eye detection is unreliable.

Bifix Temp Fluorescent Supports Clean Removal After Temporary Restorations

Bifix Temp fluorescent is a temporary luting material designed to blend into a temporary restoration with a tooth-like, translucent shade. The fluorescence does not show through temporary restorations under UV-A light — only becoming detectable once the temporary is removed and residue remains at the preparation site. That sequencing is clinically important: practitioners can use UV-A inspection specifically at the point where accurate residue identification matters most, before placing the permanent restoration.

The material has a processing time of 90 seconds and self-cures within four minutes. It is supplied in a 1:1 QuickMix syringe with 5 ml, a format that eliminates incorrect dosing and mixing ratios.

Clip F Fluorescent Covers All Temporary Filling and Sealing Indications

Clip F fluorescent is a light-curing, single-component filling material with fluoride release for temporary restorations. It can be placed and modelled directly, becomes immediately resilient and saliva-proof after light curing, and in most cases allows residue-free removal with clean preparation margins due to its elastic material properties.

The fluorescent property adds a practical layer to that already versatile profile. Thin-layer residues — among the hardest to spot visually — become detectable under UV-A. VOCO positions Clip F fluorescent as suitable for all temporary filling, sealing, and treatment types, including onlay and inlay solutions. It comes in a universal shade in packs of 2 x 4 g syringes.

Rebilda DC Fluorescent Is the First Core Build-Up and Post Luting Material with Activatable Fluorescence

Rebilda DC fluorescent occupies a distinct clinical position: it is the only material for core build-up and root post luting with activatable fluorescence. The application presents specific challenges — build-up margins at deep subgingival levels are difficult to assess visually, and incomplete removal of excess material at that depth affects preparation quality. Under UV-A, those margins and any excess become clearly recognisable, directly reducing that risk.

Despite its functional properties, the material is dentine-shaded under natural light, preserving aesthetics for highly visible restorations. Its mechanical characteristics also mimic dentine: it can be cut efficiently, carries the requisite hardness for straightforward preparation, and behaves like natural tooth structure under functional load. Rebilda DC fluorescent is available in a 10 g QuickMix syringe and a 50 g cartridge.

AlignerFlow LC Optimises Attachment Workflow from Fabrication Through Removal

AlignerFlow LC is a composite developed specifically for aligner attachments, fluorescing under UV-A light to support quality control at each stage of the attachment workflow. Precise fit and shape of attachments are fundamental to aligner treatment outcomes, and the UV-A-visible fluorescence allows practitioners to identify and address excess material and artefacts from fabrication onward.

The material offers strong adaptation in the template splint, high stability, and high abrasion resistance. It is available in tooth shades A1, A2, and A3 in packs of 2 x 2 g syringes including accessories, covering the most common shade requirements in aligner practice.
