Houston – – September 28, 2026 -- Vortex Companies has acquired Municipal & Contractors Sealing Products, LLC (MCSP), a Cincinnati-based trenchless infrastructure rehabilitation contractor, expanding its geotechnical and Midwest operating footprint.
MCSP brings 25 years of specialized rehabilitation expertise to Vortex's platform
Founded in 2000 by Bob O'Connor, MCSP has spent more than two decades rehabilitating municipal storm water and sanitary sewer systems across multiple U.S. states. The company specializes in geopolymer and cementitious spray lining, protective coatings, chemical grout injection, and rehabilitation of pipelines, manholes, culverts and tunnels.
Acquisition strengthens Vortex's Midwest presence and technical capability
Mike Vellano, Chief Executive Officer of Vortex Companies, said the acquisition gives the company a stronger foundation in the Midwest and additional ways to address complex infrastructure problems for municipal and utility customers. Vortex manufactures CIPP liners, geopolymer and hybrid mortars, polymeric coatings, resins and grouts, and operates UV curing systems, sewer robotics and high-speed drain cleaning equipment.
MCSP leadership frames the deal as a scaling opportunity
Drew O'Connor, Chief Executive Officer of MCSP, said joining Vortex allows the company to build on its field-tested materials expertise and expand the range of solutions offered to infrastructure customers. Ram Vela, Chief Strategy Officer of Vortex Companies, said the transaction is intended to strengthen both organizations' technical and operational capabilities rather than simply increase scale.
