Ann Arbor, Mich. – October 01, 2026 -- Wacker Chemical Corporation will present silicone-based thermal management and thermal runaway protection materials for battery and electronics applications at The Battery Show 2026, running Oct. 12-15 at Huntington Place in Detroit. The company will exhibit at Booth 4422, showcasing products for thermally conductive potting, flexible barrier coatings and thermal interface applications used in mobility systems.
WACKER's ELASTOSIL potting compound offers tunable thermal conductivity from 1.2 to 3.0 W/m-K
ELASTOSIL RT 7650 TC VS A/B is a two-part, low-viscosity, self-leveling silicone potting compound designed for battery pack, power and electronics applications. The material provides primerless adhesion and low sedimentation, which supports easier rehomogenization and more efficient dispensing during manufacturing.
ELASTOSIL CM 146 US A/B coating forms a ceramic shield above 600°C during thermal runaway events
The sprayable silicone barrier coating remains flexible after curing but hardens into a ceramic-like thermal shield when exposed to temperatures exceeding 600°C, delivering insulation during thermal runaway incidents. It cures at room temperature, carries low volatile content and avoids oil bleeding, addressing safety requirements in battery enclosures.
SEMICOSIL adhesive reaches 2.0 W/m-K conductivity while meeting UL 94 V-0 flame standards
SEMICOSIL PE 9351 TC VS A/B, a two-component hybrid adhesive, delivers thermal conductivity up to 2.0 W/m-K with non-slump dispensing and room-temperature curing. Its UL 94 V-0 flame-retardant rating and processing profile are built to support the industry's shift from module-to-pack to cell-to-pack battery architectures.
Peter Zorney, WACKER Senior Director of the Electronics and Automotive business segment for North and Central America, said thermal management performance is now inseparable from manufacturing process design, as engineers must balance dispensing, curing, temperature stability and safety compliance simultaneously as battery pack architectures evolve.
WACKER representatives will be available at Booth 4422 throughout the four-day Detroit event to discuss material specifications with battery and electronics engineers, manufacturers and EV safety technology providers.
