Wenatchee – October 13, 2026 -- Weidner Apartment Homes is building a seven-story, 212-unit apartment community in downtown Wenatchee, Washington, and restoring the city's 1910 jailhouse as a commercial space, with both projects due for completion in summer 2027.
The Majestic adds 212 units and 100 public parking stalls downtown
The Majestic Apartments, designed with Milbrandt Architects, will have a brick exterior, arched entries and Art Deco detailing inspired by downtown Wenatchee's architecture. The underground garage will include 100 public parking stalls. Weidner says the added parking will expand downtown capacity and encourage foot traffic to nearby businesses.
The project builds on the 1,626 residential units Weidner has already developed in Moses Lake, Leavenworth and Wenatchee.
Dime Food Group will operate a deli and speakeasy in the restored jailhouse
In front of The Majestic, Weidner is restoring the former Wenatchee Jailhouse, a 2,736-square-foot building constructed in 1910 that has been vacant for decades. Graham Baba Architects is preserving and adapting the structure for food-and-beverage use.
Local restaurant group Dime Food Group will operate the two new commercial spaces, planned as a Spanish-style deli and a speakeasy. Completion is also expected in summer 2027.
Weidner commits $9.5M to museum and YMCA camp
Weidner donated $7.5M to the Wenatchee Valley Museum and Cultural Center to support its renovation. Separately, the company contributed $2M as an endowed gift to preserve the Wenatchee Valley YMCA's Lake Wenatchee Camp.
In December 2025, company founder and chairman W. Dean Weidner, now deceased, purchased the camp and entered a 99-year, low-cost lease with the YMCA to keep it available to local youth in the Wenatchee Valley and across Washington.
Nick Nowotarski, Development Director at Weidner Apartment Homes, said the company has 18 years of housing development experience in the Wenatchee Valley and described it as "overwhelmingly positive." He added that Weidner shares the city's goal of encouraging economic development in the downtown core while preserving its character.
