Reno, Nev. – September 09, 2026 -- Woodland Direct is opening a 47,000-square-foot distribution center in Reno, Nevada this month, its second facility alongside the company's Auburn Hills, Michigan headquarters and distribution hub.
New Reno facility targets faster shipping for West Coast fire product customers
The Reno site is designed to cut shipping times for customers on the West Coast, a strategic gap the e-commerce fire products retailer identified after evaluating expansion options west of the Rocky Mountains. "We already ship all around the country. By opening the Reno distribution center, we're able to serve our West Coast customers more quickly and efficiently," said President and Founder Andrew Ingram.
Leadership began scouting expansion in Q4 2025 before selecting Reno
Woodland Direct's leadership team started exploring a second distribution center in the fourth quarter of 2025, working with logistics consultants to assess demand and site feasibility west of the Rockies. Reno's location ultimately made it the selected market for the buildout.
Local contractors Engineered Solutions, Teledata Technologies and WTR Electrical built out the warehouse
Three Reno-based firms -- Engineered Solutions, Teledata Technologies, and WTR Electrical -- were contracted to construct and prepare the new warehouse. Gunnar Bennethum, senior manager of supply chain operations and business planning, and Warehouse Assistant Wesley Davey are relocating from Auburn Hills to Reno to oversee day-to-day operations at the new site.
NetSuite software deployment aims to sharpen inventory accuracy and sales visibility
The Reno center will run on NetSuite, an industry-standard enterprise software platform, to streamline warehouse operations. "This will be a new milestone for Woodland," Bennethum said, noting the system is expected to improve inventory accuracy and give the sales team clearer visibility into product availability.
