Xuzhou – September 21, 2026 -- XCMG launched the Hanjing, its next-generation new energy heavy truck for long-haul freight, on Sept. 20, positioning the vehicle to compete on range, charging speed and lifecycle operating costs against diesel incumbents.
800-volt architecture cuts charging time to under 20 minutes
The Hanjing's 800-volt architecture supports megawatt-class fast charging, taking the battery from 20% to 80% capacity in under 20 minutes. The truck pairs a low-drag cab with a proprietary integrated electric drive axle and intelligent controls aimed at reducing energy consumption on cross-regional routes.
Body uses 1,500-MPa hot-stamped steel with multiple battery protection systems
XCMG built the Hanjing's body from 1,500-MPa hot-stamped steel and equipped it with multiple battery thermal-protection systems to address vehicle and battery safety. A central domain controller, highway navigation-assisted driving and a digital cockpit support drivers on extended hauls.
Truck completed 2,198-kilometer endurance test at 49-ton gross weight
Ahead of launch, the Hanjing underwent extreme-heat, extreme-cold, high-altitude, water-fording and crash testing. It also completed a 24-hour endurance run at the Yancheng proving ground, covering 2,198 kilometers at a fully loaded gross vehicle weight of 49 tons.
XCMG has ranked first in China's new energy heavy-truck sales for three straight years
From January through July 2026, XCMG ranked first in China in sales of both new energy heavy trucks and new energy tractors, extending a three-year run atop the national new energy heavy-truck market. The company began developing the Hanjing in 2023 after visiting major freight hubs and consulting large logistics companies on range, charging and reliability requirements.
Indonesian mining customer added 100 units to an existing order
XCMG trucks are sold in Indonesia, Thailand, Guinea and other African markets. One Indonesian mining customer ordered an additional 100 vehicles after purchasing more than 150 600-kWh 8x4 battery-electric dump trucks. XCMG also supplies charging infrastructure, connected fleet management and lifecycle services, with a connected-vehicle platform that lets operators monitor vehicle status, energy consumption and route-based charging plans.
XCMG previewed new energy commercial vehicles and transportation solutions for construction and logistics at IAA Transportation 2026 in Hannover, Germany, ahead of the Hanjing's China launch.
