Yokohama Rubber Adds Summer EV Tire to Porsche Electric Cayenne OE Program

SHERIDAN, WYOMING -- June 24, 2026 -- Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd. has confirmed it is supplying its ADVAN Sport EV tire as original equipment for Porsche AG's fully electric Cayenne Electric and Cayenne Turbo Electric SUVs, launched globally in November 2025. The staggered fitment runs 255/55R20 110Y at the front and 305/45R20 116Y at the rear. The ADVAN Sport EV joins the all-season ADVAN Sport EV A/S V35 as a second Yokohama OE tire approved for the new electric Cayenne, maintaining the ADVAN brand's unbroken presence across all four Cayenne generations.

ADVAN Sport EV Developed From High-Performance V107 Platform for EV-Specific Demands

The ADVAN Sport EV is a summer ultra-high-performance tire built for premium electric vehicles. Yokohama Rubber derived it from the ADVAN Sport V107, an existing tire for high-performance combustion and hybrid cars, then re-engineered it to address the distinct demands of EV ownership. Low rolling resistance and cabin quietness were primary development targets — both attributes that EV buyers weigh more heavily than buyers of equivalent combustion-powered vehicles.

Electric SUVs place specific structural stress on tires. Higher curb weights and near-instantaneous torque delivery from electric motors require compounds and constructions that perform consistently under conditions unlike those traditional summer tires were designed for. Yokohama Rubber's response was a compound and structure built around the EV load and torque profile rather than adapted from a combustion-era baseline.

Porsche Co-Development Produces EU "A" Wet Grade and NG0 Homologation

The Cayenne Electric fitment is not an off-the-shelf supply arrangement. Yokohama Rubber and Porsche co-developed the specific compound used on these tires, targeting low rolling resistance alongside a high-level balance of dry and wet grip. Wet performance reached the EU tire labeling system's highest "A" grade — the top classification in the European rating framework.

The tires carry the "NG0" sidewall mark, indicating Porsche's own technical approval. That designation confirms the tire has passed Porsche's internal homologation process, which operates independently of general market certification. Belt structure was also optimized during co-development to enhance handling stability for the Cayenne's performance and weight characteristics.

Proprietary "E+" Mark Identifies EV-Specific Engineering on the Sidewall

The sidewall of the ADVAN Sport EV carries Yokohama Rubber's "E+" mark alongside the Porsche "NG0" designation. The "E+" mark is Yokohama Rubber's own identifier for tires engineered with qualities suited to electrified vehicles — a visible signal to fitment centers, fleet operators, and end buyers that the product was not simply adapted from a standard passenger-car line.

The mark serves a practical function in a market where EV-specific tire specifications are becoming more common but remain inconsistently labeled across brands. For buyers replacing tires on the Cayenne Electric or Cayenne Turbo Electric, the "E+" mark on the sidewall confirms the tire was built to the vehicle's original electrified-vehicle performance envelope.

ADVAN Brand Has Held Porsche OE Status on Every Cayenne Since the First Generation

Yokohama Rubber's OE relationship with Porsche stretches back to 1988, when the company first received Porsche's technical approval. The YOKOHAMA A-008P was the initial fitment, installed on the 911. Since then, Yokohama tires have been original equipment on the Cayman, Boxster, Cayenne, and Panamera.

For the Cayenne, the ADVAN brand has been the designated choice from the first-generation model to the fourth. No generation break has occurred. The fully electric fourth-generation models continue that supply relationship under both the summer ADVAN Sport EV and the all-season ADVAN Sport EV A/S V35 — two products covering different climate and usage profiles for the same vehicle platform.

YX2026 Plan Ties Premium OE Placements to High-Value Tire Revenue Growth

Yokohama Rubber's three-year medium-term management plan, Yokohama Transformation 2026, runs from 2024 through 2026. Its consumer tire business objective is to increase the sales ratio of high-value-added tires. OE fitment on premium and high-performance models is one of the plan's primary mechanisms for achieving that ratio shift.

Two brands anchor the OE strategy: ADVAN for passenger and performance applications, and GEOLANDAR for SUVs and pickup trucks. The Cayenne Electric supply deal advances the ADVAN OE volume target directly and places Yokohama Rubber's premium summer tire in a high-visibility electric SUV segment as automakers move flagship lines toward full electrification.
