Seattle and Austin, Texas – September 19, 2026 -- Zillow and Realtor.com have simultaneously launched Preview, a pre-market listing feature giving buyers on both platforms identical early access to homes before they hit the MLS, without requiring any brokerage relationship or special login.
The rollout, first announced as a collaboration in May, marks what the companies call the largest pre-market syndication effort in U.S. residential real estate. Listings are labeled as Preview on both sites and appear to buyers at the same time regardless of platform.
More than 400 brokerages have already enrolled in Zillow Preview
Zillow said over 400 brokerage partners are participating, including Keller Williams, RE/MAX, Leading Real Estate Companies of the World, HomeServices of America, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, United Real Estate, Engel & Völkers and Side, with listing volume continuing to grow.
Preview listings generate 18% more views than standard listings
According to the companies, Preview listings receive 18% more views, 9% more shares and 7% more saves than comparable listings during their first 14 days on market. Zillow and Realtor.com together reach three-quarters of major real estate portal visitors, based on Comscore data cited by the companies.
88% of buyers want access to pre-listed homes, survey finds
A Zillow survey conducted by the Harris Poll found 88% of Americans would be at least somewhat interested in viewing pre-listed homes online when buying. Separately, 85% of soon-to-be sellers said they would be more likely to hire an agent who can pre-market their home to the broadest online audience.
Agents can pre-book tours and pre-approve buyers before homes officially list
Buyers who find a Preview listing can save it, contact the listing agent, pre-book a tour, or connect with a buyer's agent for mortgage pre-approval ahead of the home's official listing date. Agents can use buyer behavior data — views, saves, tour requests — gathered during the Preview window as pricing intelligence before a home launches on the MLS.
Listing agents can earn revenue share on qualified Preview transactions
Participation is free for sellers and agents enrolled through a participating brokerage. Direct buyer connections to listing agents through either platform carry no fee. If a qualified Preview connection results in a closed transaction through a partner agent, the listing agent may receive a revenue share settled through their brokerage, without increasing costs to consumers or agents; commissions remain negotiable.
"While others in this industry are moving in the other direction and restricting early listings to private networks, we're proving that broad, public visibility is better for sellers, better for buyers and better for agents," said Christopher Roberts, Zillow's chief product officer.
