Aker BP Restructures Executive Team Around Value Chain for 2027

Lysaker, Norway – – October 02, 2026 -- Aker BP has named a new executive management team that will take effect on January 1, 2027, reorganizing leadership around the company's full value chain from exploration to production.

New structure splits leadership into five value-chain roles and five support functions

The value-chain leadership consists of Petter Sørhaug (Find & Develop), Tommy Sigmundstad (Build), Lars Høier (Produce), Øystein Arvesen (Optimise) and Knut Sandvik (PDO Projects). Strategic and support functions will be led by CFO David Tønne, Marit Blaasmo (Services), Thomas Hoff-Hansen (Digital), Paula Doyle (Strategic Innovation) and Rolf Nystein (Transformation). CEO Karl Johnny Hersvik continues to lead the combined team.

Current leadership stays in place until year-end to design the new operating model

Aker BP's existing executive management team will remain in its current form until December 31, 2026, during which it will design the operating framework the new structure will run on. The company states the goal is to mature projects faster and more cost-effectively through the value chain, while cutting organisational interfaces and complexity.

Operating model builds on a decade of industrial data and AI work

The new model will draw on Aker BP's work with industrial data and artificial intelligence developed over the past ten years, alongside its alliance partnerships, the company said.
