Detroit – September 07, 2026 -- The Automotive Hall of Fame has selected Mark Reuss, president of General Motors, as winner of the 2026 Industry Leader Award in the OEM category, sponsored by Lear Corporation.
Lear CEO Ray Scott will present the award on September 29, 2026
The award ceremony will take place during the Automotive News Global Congress at The Department at Hudson's in Detroit, Michigan. Ray Scott, president and CEO of Lear Corporation and a 2021 AHF Distinguished Service Citation recipient, will present the honor to Reuss. Following the presentation, Reuss and Scott will join KC Crain, president and CEO of Crain Communications and an AHF board member, for a fireside chat covering automotive leadership, industry transformation, and innovation.
Award recognizes leaders including Alan Mulally, Fujio Cho, and Dieter Zetsche
The AHF Industry Leader Award has previously honored figures such as Alan Mulally of Ford Motor Company, Fujio Cho of Toyota Motor Corporation, Dieter Zetsche of Daimler AG, and Carlos Ghosn of the Nissan/Renault Alliance. AHF President Sarah Cook said Reuss's influence on GM's products, performance, manufacturing, and overall direction reflects a career with significant and lasting impact on the industry.
Reuss credits GM team for his career success
"I'm deeply grateful to the Automotive Hall of Fame and Lear for the Industry Leader Award," Reuss said, adding that any success in his career stems directly from the success of his GM team. Scott called Reuss an extraordinary leader whose drive and bold leadership have left an indelible mark on the sector.
