Eremid will characterize immune precursor cells before clinical deployment
The North Carolina-based genomics contract research organization will run scRNA-Seq and TCR sequencing on an autologous immune cell fraction supplied by BioCytics. The analysis is designed to confirm whether expanded immune cells are biologically fit for cancer-killing activity and to map their mechanism of action ahead of reinfusion into patients.
BioCytics isolates and expands rare precursor cells from leukapheresis products
BioCytics' platform, Autologous Adaptive Immune Cell Therapy (AAICT), isolates rare immune precursor cells from patient leukapheresis samples, then massively expands and re-invigorates them in culture. The goal is to generate a sufficient volume of biologically active, nongenetically modified effector cells to treat solid tumors at any stage using the patient's own immune system.
CSO says TCR data will validate manufacturing stability across patient samples
BioCytics Chief Scientific Officer Dr. Renaud Warin said transcriptomics studies reveal both macro-level functional changes and micro-level mechanisms of action, cross-referencing results already observed in vitro. He added that TCR sequencing will help validate the stability of the cell expansion process across multiple patient samples and could refine prediction models for anti-cancer response based on individual immune profiles.
