Choreo Hires Ex-LPL Executive Gabriel Rodriguez as CTO

Chicago – October 14, 2026 -- Choreo, LLC has named Gabriel Rodriguez, a former Senior Vice President of Technology at LPL Financial, as Chief Technology Officer, tasking him with building the technology foundation for the wealth management firm's next phase of growth.

Rodriguez reports to CEO Jason Van de Loo from Charlotte

Rodriguez will report to Chief Executive Officer Jason Van de Loo and join the executive leadership team. He will be based in Choreo's Charlotte, North Carolina office.

Mandate centers on a connected platform and AI-driven advisor capacity

Rodriguez will create a connected platform that helps advisor teams deliver coordinated tax and wealth advice consistently as the firm scales. He will use AI to expand advisor capacity. He will also strengthen the planning, reporting and client engagement tools advisors use daily, backed by training to support adoption.

Van de Loo said Rodriguez combines the technical depth to lead strategy with the discipline to deliver it, a combination he called critical as Choreo expands its capacity for coordinated advice at the intersection of tax and wealth.

Rodriguez brings 20-plus years across LPL, Vanguard, Wellington and Bain Capital

At LPL Financial, Rodriguez was responsible for ClientWorks, the firm's advisor workstation. Before that, he spent six years at Vanguard leading technology architecture and engineering for its U.S. intermediary business. Earlier roles included leading investment research systems at Wellington Management and developing investment systems at Bain Capital.

His experience spans trading, investment operations, advisor platforms and client service. He has also led AI initiatives focused on advisor productivity and technology integration for acquired firms.

Rodriguez cites wealth transfer and advisor attrition as AI drivers

Rodriguez pointed to the coming wealth transfer and to industry observers' expectations that more than a third of financial advisors may leave the industry within the decade. He described AI as a clear solution, but one that raises questions requiring careful, strategic consideration in partnership with operational leadership and advisors in every firm.
