Memorial Healthcare Holds Millage Rate at Record Low 0.0805
Hollywood, Fla. – September 25, 2026 -- The South Broward Hospital District Board of Commissioners has unanimously voted to maintain its millage rate at 0.0805, the lowest level in the district's recorded history, even as Memorial Healthcare System expands facilities and services across South Florida.
Board keeps tax rate unchanged after 15 years of cuts
The 0.0805 rate was first set in 2025 following 15 consecutive years of millage rate reductions. The decision to hold the rate steady comes despite rising healthcare costs and broader industry cost pressures facing hospital systems.
"Maintaining the lowest tax rate in the district's history reflects our commitment to being responsible with taxpayer dollars," said Elizabeth Justen, chair of the South Broward Hospital District Board of Commissioners.
