London – September 23, 2026 -- Constellation Cold Logistics has appointed Abhy Maharaj as Chief Executive Officer, effective October 1, 2026, succeeding Carlos Rodriguez after four years at the helm.
Rodriguez moves to advisory role focused on M&A strategy
Rodriguez will transition to Constellation's Advisory Board, where he will support the company's acquisition strategy. Under his leadership since 2022, Constellation grew into a European leader in cold storage through acquisitions and new capacity development, according to Chair Nils S Andersen.
Maharaj joined Constellation as Chief Commercial Officer in February 2025
Maharaj has spent 19 months at Constellation overseeing market strategy, customer engagement and integration work following the company's acquisition-driven expansion. Andersen said Maharaj's industry experience positions him to lead the company's next phase, with continued focus on customer needs, growth opportunities and strengthening the operating platform.
Maharaj brings prior experience from NewCold and Fonterra
Before Constellation, Maharaj held board and executive roles at NewCold Coöperatief, an automated cold storage warehouse developer and operator. He previously spent 11 years in senior executive positions at Fonterra Cooperative Group, the world's largest dairy exporter, which sells in 130 countries.
Constellation operates 1.2 million pallet positions across ten European countries
The company has become Europe's largest independent cold storage and logistics provider, with several expansion projects currently under implementation. Rodriguez said Maharaj has a track record in growing businesses, transformation, operational excellence, and automation and technology capabilities, and has the Advisory Board's full support to execute the company's strategic plan.
