Crane Tires Market to Hit $3.63B by 2035 on Infrastructure, Wind Boom

Middletown, Del. – – October 07, 2026 -- The global crane tires market is projected to climb from USD 2.31 billion in 2025 to USD 3.63 billion by 2035, a 4.56% compound annual growth rate, according to a 257-page study from Radial Insights. Asia-Pacific already commands 41.62% of 2025 demand, driven by construction and energy programs across China, India and Southeast Asia.

Infrastructure spending expands the mobile crane installed base

World Bank data cited in the study show private participation in infrastructure investment reached USD 100.7 billion in 2024, up 16% from 2023, while U.S. construction activity hit a seasonally adjusted annual rate of USD 2.192 trillion in December 2024. In Great Britain, new work output rose 1.4% to a record GBP 140.7 billion in 2024, with private infrastructure orders up 15.4%.

Fleet buying is tracking that workload. Liebherr reported the Wittrock and Ulferts groups ordered 12 MK mobile construction cranes for 2024-25 delivery, ALL Family added the five-axle LTM 1100-5.3 in North America, and Tadano customer Geo-Transport & Construction expanded to 21 units after adding new GR-1450EX cranes.

Wind turbine erection lifts demand for high-capacity tires

GWEC recorded 117 GW of wind capacity installed globally in 2024, while WindEurope logged 16.4 GW of new EU-region capacity, 84% onshore, backed by EUR 32 billion in finalized investment for 20 GW of future projects. U.S. Department of Energy figures show 2023 land-based turbines averaging 3.4 MW with 133.8-meter rotor diameters, and the U.S. offshore wind pipeline reached 80,523 MW per the 2024 Offshore Wind Market Report. Liebherr's 1,200-tonne LTM 11200-9.1, built with a 100-meter telescopic boom and nine axles, targets this turbine-erection segment.

Megaproject gas and LNG contracts sustain rough-terrain crane work

Aramco awarded more than USD 25 billion in gas expansion contracts in June 2024, including Jafurah phase two and roughly 4,000 kilometers of pipelines, with Jafurah lifecycle investment expected to top USD 100 billion. ADNOC Gas awarded USD 2.1 billion in enabling contracts for the Ruwais LNG project in January 2025, and ADNOC Refining has a USD 3.47 billion Crude Flexibility project underway. Manitowoc's five-axle Grove GMK5150XL, with a 68.7-meter boom, was selected for gas-platform work in Azerbaijan.

Fleet utilization above 85% pushes buyers toward total-cost-of-ownership tires

Radial Insights notes global crane utilization exceeded 85% in 2024-25, raising the stakes for tire availability and lifecycle performance. Fleet managers are weighing tire life, retreadability, rolling resistance and telematics-based wear monitoring over upfront price, favoring suppliers with regional inventory and technical service capacity. Michelin, Bridgestone and Goodyear hold leading positions in premium fitments prioritizing load capability and heat management.

Suppliers launch new crane-specific tires ahead of 2026 fitment cycles

Magna Tyres unveiled the M-CRANE at BAUMA 2025 with 178F and 170F ratings and a five-year limited warranty. Michelin introduced the X-CRANE 2 in 445/95 R 25 in May 2025, 5% lighter than its predecessor and rated for 800 kilograms more load per tire at 80 kph. Techking used CONEXPO 2026 in April to engage OEM partners on application-specific all-terrain crane tire solutions.

Raw material volatility and certification costs remain structural risks

The report flags geopolitical instability in Southeast Asia, port congestion and container shortages as threats to natural rubber, synthetic polymer and steel cord supply chains. Compliance with standards including ISO 9001, ECE R54 and REACH adds development and market-entry costs, while Tier 2 and regional brands continue to compete aggressively against premium suppliers on price.
