Berlin – September 23, 2026 -- CRRC, the world's largest rail equipment manufacturer, unveiled three full-size vehicles at InnoTrans 2026, targeting urban transit, mainline freight and intermodal logistics with new low-carbon and AI-enabled technology.
CRRC launches VELLINK platform with industry's first embodied AI metro train
The flagship digital-intelligent metro train under the new VELLINK urban rail platform uses integrated multi-source sensors to create a real-time sensing network that monitors tracks and identifies potential failures, cutting lifecycle maintenance costs. Lightweight materials and deep system integration reduce total vehicle weight by approximately 18% and cut energy consumption by more than 10% compared with conventional trains. The train's industrial design has won the international iF Design Award, with cabin features including panoramic windows and rotatable seating.
Hydrogen locomotive refuels in 15 to 20 minutes with over 98% hydrogen utilization
CRRC's VELFORCE hydrogen fuel-cell hybrid locomotive, rated at 2,000 kW, is powered by a parallel dual-stack fuel-cell system delivering 400 kW. It achieves a hydrogen utilization rate exceeding 98% and integrates a deep-learning-based intelligent driving platform with 360-degree environmental awareness, positioning it as a zero-emission option for regional freight routes lacking full electrification.
MAGIX flat wagon carries 73 metric tons at just 17 metric tons of vehicle weight
Designed for freight yard shunting and intermodal operations, the MAGIX intelligent flat wagon combines a lightweight structure with modular, automated features aimed at short-haul and terminal logistics, cutting energy consumption relative to conventional freight equipment.
CRRC deploys AIZOR AI model across R&D, manufacturing and maintenance
Alongside the vehicle launches, CRRC hosted technology forums at InnoTrans to present its cloud-edge-end technical architecture and its self-developed AIZOR large AI model, which the company applies across equipment research and development, manufacturing and maintenance to optimize network operational efficiency.
