Duck Creek Claims Wins Luminary Rating, Two XCelent Awards from Celent

Boston – September 13, 2026 -- Duck Creek has secured a Luminary rating, the highest possible score in Celent's Technical Capabilities Matrix, along with two XCelent Awards for Advanced Technology and Breadth of Functionality in the research firm's 2026 Claims Systems Vendors: North America P&C Insurance report.

Celent names Duck Creek Claims a top performer for third consecutive year

The recognition marks the third consecutive time Duck Creek has received Celent honors for its claims solution. Celent evaluated vendors on functionality, technology architecture, and customer base and support, reserving the Luminary distinction for the strongest performers across both technical criteria.

Agentic AI tools embed directly into adjuster workflows

The report highlights AI-powered summarization built on the Mistral Small 3.1 LLM, accessible via a "Summarize" button inside the adjuster workflow. A claims intelligence portlet brings third-party AI models for fraud detection, claim complexity, and predictive inspection routing directly onto the claim screen.

Additional capabilities cited include a loss intake API supporting both incomplete FNOL submissions and straight-through automation, multi-channel intake spanning mobile, portal, email and third-party vendor submission, and LexisNexis integration that auto-populates claim fields from police reports. Early duplicate detection via ISO claim search and a "Key Facts" section flag claim complexity upfront, while straight-through processing extends to subrogation, liability and payments.

Agentic FNOL automates first notice of loss across personal and commercial lines

Duck Creek is advancing claims intake with Agentic FNOL, an AI-native capability that orchestrates and automates the first notice of loss process. The tool captures loss details through conversational multi-channel intake, enriches and validates information, identifies potential fraud and anomalies, and routes each claim to the appropriate next action or flags it for user review, reducing manual rework and accelerating resolution.

"Celent's recognition validates the direction we've taken with Duck Creek Claims, particularly as we continue building agentic AI deeper into the claims workflow," said Jose Lazares, Chief Product Officer of Duck Creek.

Nathan Golia, senior analyst for P&C insurance at Celent, said the claims intelligence portlet and AI summarization tools give adjusters configurable ways to act on third-party fraud, complexity, and inspection routing models at the point of decision-making.
