New York – October 13, 2026 -- Empiric Earth has named Jen Vescio, a board member since April and former Chief Business Development Officer at Uber, as President, effective immediately. She reports to Chief Executive Officer Zach Greenberger.
Vescio takes charge of buy, build and partner functions across four units
Vescio leads Product, Corporate Development/IR, Business Development/Sales and Marketing. She also oversees the post-M&A integration of the two merged companies. Her remit covers corporate strategy and commercialization of the business.
The appointment follows the September merger of Nexar and Nauto, which has since been rebranded Empiric Earth. The company says it was formed in 2026 through that combination.
Greenberger cites shared history at rival ride-hailing platforms
Greenberger said he has known Vescio since they sat on opposite sides of the table, she at Uber and he at Lyft. He credited her with taking technology from breakthrough to business across multiple generations of AI, from hardware and compute to software and networks. He said she now brings that experience to Physical AI.
Vescio led global BizDev at Uber and raised over $300M for Physical AI firms
At Uber, Vescio led global business development across Uber Rides and Uber Eats, as well as new business development in Autonomous. Most recently she was principal of Awestruck Ventures, an advisory firm focused on buy-side, sell-side and go-to-market strategy.
She has raised more than $300M for a portfolio of Physical AI companies, including Fort Robotics, and recently helped launch open-source projects such as OpenClaw.
Data asset spans 300M+ miles captured monthly across 98% of US roads
Empiric Earth captures more than 300M real-world miles every month across 98% of US roads and 50 or more countries. The dataset draws on more than 10 billion miles of driving history and 60 million de-identified edge cases.
The company does not build vehicles or compete with the systems it measures. It positions itself as independent ground truth for developers, automakers, fleets, insurers and public agencies.
Vescio said her goal is to build trust with customers, employees and investors through products, platforms and services that bridge the real world to the Physical AI ecosystem.
