Hamburg – September 25, 2026 -- Envision Energy launched the Model T – EN175/8.0, an 8 MW-class onshore wind turbine with a 175-meter rotor, at WindEnergy Hamburg, promising a 2-12% increase in energy yield over existing models depending on site conditions.
Model T platform has already logged 4,000 orders and 1,500 installations
The EN175/8.0 builds on Envision's Model T platform, which has accumulated more than 4,000 units ordered and roughly 1,500 units installed to date. The new unit adds sixth-generation low-noise aerodynamic technology, in-house designed drivetrain components and Galileo autonomous optimization control.
AI foundation models drive real-time turbine adjustments
Galileo is powered by Envision's Tianji Weather Foundation Model and Dubhe Energy Foundation Model, allowing the turbine to analyze real-time operating data and autonomously adjust control strategies rather than relying on predefined rules. The system is designed to optimize efficiency and stability across multiple variables while reducing manual intervention.
Turbine targets 107 dB(A) sound level for noise-sensitive sites
The EN175/8.0 incorporates newly developed serrated trailing edges validated through wind-tunnel testing, targeting a sound power level of 107 dB(A), with optional low-noise operating modes for noise-sensitive projects.
Design covers cold climates, icing risk and complex terrain
The turbine is offered in normal- and cold-climate configurations, with an optional blade ice-prevention system featuring multiple heating zones integrated with the lightning protection architecture. Configurations are also available for regions with higher extreme wind speeds and mountainous terrain.
Full-power converter architecture supports weak-grid operation
The EN175/8.0 combines full-power converter architecture with grid-forming controls, targeting stronger voltage and frequency support, rapid fault ride-through response and reliable operation in weak-grid conditions as power systems absorb more variable renewable capacity.
Envision positions turbine within wider integrated energy system strategy
Lou Yimin, Senior Vice President and Chief Product Officer of Envision Energy, said the company is combining proven platform engineering with AI-powered optimization to help customers capture more energy and create greater value at the plant level. Envision said the Model T platform is designed to extend beyond single-turbine optimization by coordinating wind, solar, energy storage and industrial loads to improve plant-level economics and returns.
