FENC Fiber Selected for 2026 World Cup Jerseys, Expands T2T Recycling

Taipei – October 15, 2026 -- Far Eastern New Century Corporation (FENC) says its FENC® TopCool® Petal moisture-management fiber has been named a designated material for the 2026 World Cup by a leading global sportswear brand. The company also supplies the apparel value chain for multiple national teams in the tournament.

Petal-shaped fiber targets moisture and opacity in team jerseys

TopCool Petal has a petal-shaped cross-section that FENC says delivers efficient moisture wicking, rapid drying and a soft hand feel. The geometry also increases opacity, reducing the see-through effect caused by perspiration. FENC showcased the fiber at the Taipei Innovative Textile Application Show (TITAS), held October 6-8, 2026. Its technologies also appear in championship apparel worn by top professional tennis players.

FENC extends recycled polyester into textile-to-textile loops

FENC has built on its recycled polyester made from post-consumer PET bottles by moving into Textile-to-Textile (T2T) recycling. The move is part of its "100% polyester circular ecosystem" initiative.

Recent recognition includes:

  • Germany's Innovation Award "Best CO2 Utilisation 2025" for AirTek low-carbon polyurethane technology.
  • Gold Award as Outstanding Resource Circulation Enterprise from Taiwan's Ministry of Environment.
  • iF DESIGN AWARD 2026 for an all-polyester synthetic leather that FENC describes as a 100% closed-loop polyester solution.
Footwear recycling project wins R&D 100 Award

FENC, the Taiwan Textile Research Institute (TTRI) and other partners combined FENC® TOPGREEN® rTPEE technology with a "One-Step Separation and Decolorization" process. The aim is to address recycling of composite materials in the global footwear industry. The resulting mono-material polyester footwear solution won a 2026 R&D 100 Award.
