Olathe – October 01, 2026 -- Garmin International Inc. (NYSE: GRMN) has been named Manufacturer of the Year by the National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA) for the 12th consecutive year, while also collecting six Product of Excellence awards across marine electronics categories voted on by NMEA dealers and certified installers.
Garmin extends category-leading streaks across navigation, autopilot and safety systems
The GPSMAP 9227, a 27-inch integrated 4K touchscreen chartplotter described as the industry's largest, secured the MFD category win for the 12th straight year. The Reactor 40 Hydraulic Autopilot with SmartPump v2 extended Garmin's autopilot category streak to 14 years. The Garmin OnBoard System, a wireless man-overboard detection and engine cutoff system, won the marine safety device category for the second consecutive year.
Sonar, AIS and satellite communication products add three more wins
The LiveScope Plus live sonar system took the Live Sonar category, citing improved resolution and target separation. The Cortex M1 Hub, a communication hub featuring smartAIS transponder and remote vessel monitoring, extended Garmin's AIS category streak to three consecutive years. The inReach Mini 3 satellite communicator, equipped with an SOS function and color touchscreen, marked Garmin's third straight win in the satellite communication antenna category.
Garmin has held NMEA's top manufacturer honor since 2015
Since first winning the award in 2015, Garmin has expanded its marine electronics portfolio to include navigation, sonar, trolling motors, communication, safety, audio, lighting and connected boating technologies.
"Winning this award once is an achievement. Earning it 12 years in a row speaks to the trust dealers, installers and boaters place in Garmin products and service," said Dave Dunn, Garmin Senior Director of Marine & RV Sales.
NMEA President and Executive Director Mark Reedenauer said the awards reflect products that members and certified installers trust to deliver performance, safety and innovation on the water.
