Concord, N.C. – October 01, 2026 -- Heintz Performance Inc. has acquired Woodward Machine Corporation, the exclusive steering supplier to the NASCAR Cup Series since 1995, in a deal brokered by Viking Mergers & Acquisitions.
Deal caps a 30-year supplier relationship between the two motorsports companies
Heintz Performance, a motorsports and performance retailer based in Concord, North Carolina, had worked with Woodward Machine for three decades before the acquisition. Jeff Edge, a senior advisor in Viking M&A's Charlotte office, represented the seller, Tony Woodward, in the transaction.
Woodward Machine built its reputation on proprietary servovalve steering technology
Founded in 1978, Woodward Machine designs and custom-builds precision power steering racks, steering components and suspension links exclusively for motorsports applications. Its products use the company's proprietary Woodward servovalve system, contain no OEM internals, and are manufactured entirely in-house. The company has also supplied NASCAR-approved safety steering columns and quick-release hubs since 1995.
Operations continue in Wyoming under new corporate name WMC Manufacturing LLC
Woodward Machine will remain based in Casper, Wyoming, operating under the new name WMC Manufacturing LLC. Heintz Performance plans to invest in the unit's existing workforce, capabilities and customer relationships while pursuing expanded production capacity. Heintz Performance to expand inventory for Charlotte-region customers
Heintz Performance will continue serving customers in the Concord and Charlotte region, with plans to broaden its parts inventory and maintain its focus on product expertise and customer service.
