Azour, Israel – September 13, 2026 -- Ituran Location and Control Ltd. (Nasdaq: ITRN) has secured a contract worth over NIS 21 million (approximately $7 million) from entities under Israel's Ministry of Transport to supply a Software-as-a-Service traffic monitoring solution, with the first year guaranteed at NIS 5 million (approximately $1.7 million).
Ituran's Big Data platform tracks over one million vehicles across Israel
The contract runs for up to four years and relies on Ituran's proprietary Big Data platform, which analyzes anonymized data from more than one million vehicles -- roughly a quarter of all registered vehicles in Israel. The platform delivers macro-level traffic and driver behavior insights that Ministry-affiliated entities will use to shape national road policy and future infrastructure investment.
Deal marks Ituran's first multi-year commercial contract for its Big Data initiative
Co-CEO Eyal Sheratzky said the project validates the company's Big Data platform beyond its core telematics and stolen vehicle recovery business, calling it a new recurring revenue stream built on data assets Ituran already owns. He noted the contract advances one of three growth initiatives the company announced earlier this year, alongside IturanMob -- a shared mobility management platform launched recently in the United States -- and a platform for monetizing carbon credits for electric vehicle drivers.
