Jack Henry First Core Provider to Integrate Google Cloud Ledger

Monett, Mo. – – October 16, 2026 -- Jack Henry (Nasdaq: JKHY) will become the first core banking technology provider to integrate with Google Cloud Universal Ledger (GCUL), giving banks and credit unions a route to offer tokenized deposits.

GCUL is a fully managed, distributed ledger service. Financial institutions use it to tokenize and transfer money and assets on a shared, real-time record with programmable, 24/7 settlement.

Community lenders face growing pressure from large banks and fintechs

Jack Henry says consumer and business expectations are shifting toward real-time, programmable financial experiences. Community and regional institutions face growing competition from large banks and fintech providers. The company says tokenized deposit infrastructure inside its ecosystem lets these institutions explore new transactional use cases and enhance digital experiences.

Jack Henry Chief Technology Officer Ben Metz said tokenized deposits have the potential to reshape how money moves across the financial ecosystem. James Tromans, director of Web3 and Digital Assets at Google Cloud, said: "Financial innovation should be accessible to institutions of all sizes."

Five stated benefits center on deposit retention and capital efficiency

The companies list the following benefits of tokenized deposits through GCUL:

  • Deposit retention and growth: Institutions keep deposit relationships while offering emerging digital payment and value-transfer capabilities.
  • 24/7 programmable experience: End clients get payment execution around the clock, with automated workflows across an expanding network of institutional participants, currencies and asset classes.
  • Seamless integration: Jack Henry's modern architecture is meant to simplify adoption and reduce operational complexity.
  • Enterprise infrastructure: Jack Henry's architecture is paired with Google Cloud's distributed ledger infrastructure, described as secure, scalable and resilient.
  • Capital efficiency: Automated clearing and multilateral netting require no liquidity tie-ups or pre-funded accounts. Institutions can scale digital asset capabilities while preserving core reserves and primary deposit relationships.
Deal extends a Google Cloud relationship that began in 2022

Jack Henry and Google Cloud established their strategic relationship in 2022 to accelerate Jack Henry's cloud-native modernization strategy. The companies later announced plans to deliver AI-driven security capabilities. These integrate Google Cloud's agentic defense solutions to protect banks and credit unions against increasingly sophisticated cyber threats.

The GCUL integration adds ledger technology to that cloud infrastructure, with a focus on digital asset and payment capabilities for community and regional institutions.
