Los Angeles – September 25, 2026 -- Los Angeles Orbit, the newest franchise in League One Volleyball (LOVB), unveiled its team name, logo and brand identity today at Intuit Dome ahead of its inaugural professional season.
Ohanian, Rae and James headline ownership group at Intuit Dome reveal
Team owners Alexis Ohanian, Issa Rae and Savannah James attended the unveiling alongside LOVB Commissioner Sandra Idehen and volleyball legend Misty May-Treanor. Players including Carli Lloyd, Kotoe Inoue, Annie Drews Schumacher, Madi Kingdon Rishel and Kathryn Boden joined the event, which also featured activist Malala Yousafzai.
Yaamava' Resort & Casino commits $1,000 per home ace to community fund
Yaamava' Resort & Casino at San Manuel signed on as Los Angeles Orbit's first Founding Partner, launching a community platform called Aces Up. Under the deal, Yaamava' will donate $1,000 for every ace the team records at home games, directing proceeds toward community impact initiatives across Los Angeles for the entirety of the inaugural season.
Franchise becomes seventh LOVB team as league enters third pro season
Los Angeles Orbit is the seventh franchise in LOVB, which launched its professional league in January 2025 and now fields teams in Atlanta, Austin, Houston, Los Angeles, Madison, Miami, Minnesota, Nebraska, Salt Lake City and San Francisco. The team will play its home matches at Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California.
The brand launch video included a cameo from Zhuri James, daughter of investor Savannah James, and was narrated by fellow investor Issa Rae. Ana Mendy, President of Los Angeles Orbit, said the franchise's identity centers on putting female athletes and fans "at the center" of the experience rather than on the sidelines.
Free Fan Fest at Intuit Dome opens to public September 26
Los Angeles Orbit will host a Free Fan Fest at Intuit Dome on Saturday, September 26, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., giving fans access to players, volleyball activities and gear customization. Season and group ticket deposits are currently open ahead of the team's debut season.
