Dublin – October 01, 2026 -- Neuromod Devices has appointed Joe Ghiz as Chief Commercial Officer and Shannon Basham as VP of Channel Development, moves aimed at accelerating global commercial expansion of its tinnitus treatment device, Lenire.
Ghiz brings Align Technology playbook to tinnitus category creation
Ghiz joins from Align Technology, maker of Invisalign, where as General Manager of Sales and in multiple global commercial leadership roles he helped scale the company into a $10 billion business by building the clear aligner category. CEO Dr. Ross O'Neill said Neuromod is positioned to address the needs of 740 million tinnitus sufferers worldwide, citing robust clinical evidence, global regulatory approval and broad commercial adoption as the basis for rapid scaling. Prior to Align, Ghiz spent over a decade at Johnson & Johnson Vision Care in sales, marketing and business development roles, including initiatives supporting the ACUVUE brand.
Basham adds two decades of hearing-care channel experience from Sonova
Basham joins as VP of Channel Development after serving as Sonova Group's Senior Director of Audiology and Education in the United States, where she led audiology and clinical education strategy for the Phonak and Unitron wholesale businesses. She previously spent a decade as Director of Clinical Training for Phonak, overseeing training content across all Phonak product lines. Before Phonak, Basham managed national training and educational content at InSound Medical, supporting commercialization of the Lyric Hearing Aid ahead of InSound's acquisition by Sonova.
Lenire holds FDA De Novo approval and is active across four markets
Lenire is a non-invasive bimodal neuromodulation device combining audio stimulation with tongue-surface stimulation delivered via a proprietary Tonguetip component, prescribed by ENTs or audiologists following an audiological examination. The device holds CE-mark certification and is the first and only bimodal neuromodulation device to receive a De Novo Approval Grant from the US FDA. It is currently available in the United States, Canada, Europe and Australia, and is a treatment option through US Veterans Affairs.
Ghiz said Lenire has already treated tens of thousands of tinnitus patients and that his focus will be on reaching more clinicians to expand patient access to the therapy.
