Nexcess Adds Acronis EDR as Server Security Add-On

Lansing – October 19, 2026 -- Nexcess has made Acronis Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) available from October 19, 2026 as an add-on for any eligible server on its managed cloud platform, bundling real-time threat monitoring into the hosting relationship.

Nexcess targets AI-accelerated attacks with continuous server monitoring

Nexcess argues that artificial intelligence has removed two barriers to sophisticated attacks: the need for deep engineering expertise and months of patient reconnaissance. Acronis EDR is its response, monitoring how programs behave on a server, flagging activity that looks like an attack and keeping a record of what happened.

The company positions EDR as a step beyond antivirus, which blocks known threats. EDR instead monitors activity continuously, identifies suspicious patterns, and contains threats in real time. Customers receive the details and tools to respond.

Nexcess handles setup, alerts and billing through its own portal

The Nexcess team performs setup and activates the software, so customers install nothing. Alerts appear in the Nexcess portal and show the affected server, severity, what was caught, and whether the threat has been contained. A single click from any incident opens the Acronis console for deeper analysis.

The service is billed on one invoice. Nexcess support is available for setup, access, and questions about alerts.

Existing Acronis Backup and Disaster Recovery customers can reuse installed agents

Any eligible Nexcess managed cloud customer can add Acronis EDR. Customers already running Acronis Backup or Disaster Recovery with Nexcess can use the Acronis agent already present on their servers.

Michael Ohayon, General Manager of Managed Cloud at Nexcess, said customers want assurance that they can see and act on server problems, and that Nexcess aims to be a single partner for both the server and its protection.
