Jinan, China -- September 01, 2026 -- Niutech Technology Group Co., Ltd. signed a sales contract with a major global energy company for an industrial continuous pyrolysis line that converts plastic waste into feedstock for sustainable aviation fuel, the Jinan-based firm said Aug. 31, 2026. The system, rated at 10,000 to 50,000 tonnes per year, will retrofit one of the client's large-scale refineries to run the full chain from plastic pyrolysis oil to hydrotreated SAF. Niutech said the deal marks its first entry into the client's equipment supply chain.
EU Blending Mandate Pushes Refiners Toward Plastic-Derived Oil
The European Union's ReFuelEU Aviation regulation requires a 2% SAF blend starting in 2025, rising to 6% by 2030 and 70% by 2050. Used cooking oil, the dominant SAF feedstock today, remains in short supply, pushing energy companies to test plastic waste as an alternative pyrolysis oil source.
Line Processes Mixed Plastics Without Washing or Sorting
Niutech's process converts low-value plastics, including PP, PE, PS, ABS and nylon, in both single-material and mixed streams, directly into pyrolysis oil suitable for SAF production. The company said the line skips pretreatment steps such as washing, sorting and drying that typically add cost to plastic-to-fuel operations.
Company Cites Deployments Across Six Countries
Niutech has commercialized its plastic pyrolysis systems in the United Kingdom, South Korea, Denmark, Thailand, Vietnam and China, running multiple continuous pyrolysis projects in the 10,000-tonne-per-year class. A Niutech marketing executive said large-scale pyrolysis projects demand strict continuous operating capacity, noting the company has focused on pyrolysis technology for nearly 40 years and brings equipment and project experience to the new partnership.
Listed Firm Runs Waste Lines Across Dozens of Countries
Niutech, listed under stock code 688309, builds industrial continuous pyrolysis equipment in the 10,000-to-50,000-tonne-per-year range that processes more than 30 waste types, including used tires, plastic waste, oily sludge, tar residue and medical waste. The company has commissioned 10,000-tonne-per-year projects in dozens of countries, among them Germany, the United Kingdom, South Korea, Denmark and Brazil.
