New York – September 22, 2026 -- The New York International Auto Show's 2026 Visitor Impact Report found that 92% of attendees who said they planned to buy a vehicle within 12 months actually did so, underscoring the event's direct influence on automotive sales conversion. The 127th edition of the show, North America's oldest auto exhibition since 1900, will run March 26–April 4, 2027, at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, with Media & Industry Days set for March 23–25.
Show attendance drives measurable purchase intent among visitors
According to the 2026 report, 80% of visitors said the show influenced their next vehicle decision, while 38% indicated plans to purchase or lease within 12 months. Among those 12-month intenders, 42% added one or more brands to their consideration list after attending.
Show captures near-exclusive share of consumer automotive engagement
72% of respondents said the New York show was the only automotive event they attended in the prior 12 months, positioning it as a primary touchpoint between manufacturers and buyers in the New York market.
2027 program adds B2B conference ahead of public opening
The Automotive Forum, a full-day B2B conference organized by J.D. Power, the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA), and the New York International Auto Show, will open the industry's pre-public days on Tuesday, March 23, 2027. Two additional days of media and industry programming will follow, including vehicle reveals, executive forums and industry conferences, before the public show opens Friday, March 26.
Organizers plan expanded consumer and industry programming for 2027
Mark Schienberg, President of the New York International Auto Show, said the 2026 show demonstrated a strong connection between the automotive industry and New York consumers and that organizers are building a larger platform for automakers, media, industry and consumers in 2027. The 2027 edition is expected to include new product announcements, additional B2B events and expanded test-track experiences for consumers.
