Ponderay, Idaho – September 28, 2026 -- Patriot Dynamic Systems (PDS) has launched Adaptive Kinetics, a bolt-on active suspension system for three-quarter-ton through Class 5 heavy-duty trucks that eliminates the leaf-spring ride without cutting, welding, or modifying the vehicle frame.
System delivers 20-plus inches of travel and 44 inches of articulation
Adaptive Kinetics self-levels to 33 degrees and adjusts ride height from stock to 16 inches of lift, controlled from the cab. Loaded, it runs a progressive rate like a leaf spring to resist squat and sway under tow or haul weight; unloaded, it switches to a linear coilover-style rate. The active system reads road conditions at 1,000 Hz, with automatic sway control and speed-based height adjustment.
Nine years of testing produced 220,000 miles under load with zero failures
PDS co-founder Jason Johnson developed the suspension to match the company's Patriot Chassis replacement frames, complete builds of which sell for more than $200,000. The system was validated over nine years at the Purcell Trench Ranch proving ground in the Idaho backcountry, accumulating 220,000 off-trail miles under load without failure.
Shocks carry a 10-year, 1,000,000-mile warranty
The base configuration includes four passive shocks and a four-link setup; operators can add the active system for four-wheel active damping and leveling. The active tier offers double or triple redundancy on a closed-loop pneumatic circuit sealed against moisture and dust — PDS claims it is the only triple-redundant truck suspension on the market. Every nitrided shock shaft carries a Diamond-Like Carbon coating to reduce friction versus chrome. Shocks are backed by a 10-year, 1,000,000-mile warranty, with all other components covered for three years.
Installation takes 20 to 24 hours and transfers between trucks
PDS positions Adaptive Kinetics as equipment rather than a permanent modification: installation is a bolt-on process taking 20 to 24 hours, and the truck can be returned to stock configuration for lease return or resale while the suspension system moves to the owner's next vehicle.
Ford and Ram orders are open now; GM applications follow in December 2026
First deliveries for Ford and Ram applications begin immediately. GM-compatible systems are scheduled to arrive in December 2026. PDS is offering staged purchasing, allowing buyers to add components over time or order a discounted full-package configuration upfront.
