Fort Collins, Colo. – September 20, 2026 -- The Inner Circle has named Nicola Upright, Construction Manager at RockSol Consulting Group, Inc., a Pinnacle Professional Member Inner Circle of Excellence for her 41-year career in heavy civil road construction and transportation infrastructure across Colorado.
Career spans state testing roles to multimillion-dollar project management
Upright started with the Colorado Department of Transportation as a tester and inspector before advancing to project manager positions overseeing large-scale roadway and bridge reconstruction work. Her responsibilities have included project budgeting, materials testing coordination, team supervision and contractor-agency collaboration.
Upright managed 30-mile resurfacing project using 160,000 tons of asphalt
Among her tracked project outcomes, Upright led a 30-mile resurfacing and realignment initiative that consumed 160,000 tons of asphalt. She also helped oversee bridge reconstruction following Colorado's 2013 flooding, which damaged transportation infrastructure statewide.
Colorado Department of Transportation charity has distributed $250,000 over 19 years
Upright founded a Colorado Department of Transportation employee charity 19 years ago that has since provided more than $250,000 in financial support to employees and their families. She was also a founding member and served as president of Women of Asphalt Colorado for five years, an organization focused on advancing women in the construction sector.
