New York City – October 12, 2026 -- S-Docs, a 100% Salesforce-native document automation vendor, has added Common Access Card (CAC) and Personal Identity Verification (PIV) authenticated signing to its S-Sign e-Signature product, letting agencies and contractors verify signer identity inside Salesforce workflows.
S-Sign verifies signer identity at the moment of document execution
The enhancement uses the signer's existing identity provider. Agencies and contractors insert their CAC or PIV cards to authenticate, without replacing or reworking established systems. S-Docs describes the product as fully standards-based and identity-provider-agnostic.
S-Docs says the enhanced S-Sign runs entirely within Salesforce and requires no extra clicks or downloads. It meets DoD and federal requirements guided by NIST and FIPS standards and keeps a complete audit trail for compliance and record-keeping.
Paper-based signing still slows public-sector digital programs
S-Docs points to a gap between government digital transformation spending and day-to-day document handling. Governments have invested millions of dollars in citizen portals and case management systems, yet outdated document processes still slow approvals and create errors. In many cases, citizens must still print, sign and mail forms to access basic services.
CEO Brian Stimpfl said public-sector technology should be judged on outcomes such as faster service and fewer errors rather than on revenue or profit. He said just-in-time identity verification at signing improves the experience for both employees and the public.
FedRAMP High and IL5 authorization precedes the launch
The announcement follows S-Docs' recent FedRAMP High / IL5 authorization. The company links that authorization to its focus on protecting sensitive data while streamlining public-sector operations.
