Pittsburgh – September 28, 2026 -- Sharpa unveiled three flagship dexterous-manipulation products at IEEE/RSJ IROS 2026: the D01 integrated robot, the W02 tactile dexterous hand and the AE01 haptic exoskeleton data glove, expanding its hardware portfolio for human-environment robotics.
D01 integrates arms, hands and full-body electronic skin for tactile manipulation
D01 combines Sharpa Wave dexterous hands with seven-degree-of-freedom arms and whole-body electronic skin. The robot achieves an approximately 1:1 arm payload-to-weight ratio, a maximum end-effector speed exceeding 10.5 meters per second, communication frequency of 1,000 Hz and end-effector repeatability of 0.2 millimeters. Its electronic skin operates at a 100 Hz tactile sampling rate with 0.2 newton force resolution, extending contact sensing across the robot's body.
W02 hand delivers 21 degrees of freedom in a sub-750-gram frame
Building on Sharpa's W01, the W02 dexterous hand packs 21 active degrees of freedom into a structure weighing less than 750 grams. Fingertip sensors using Sharpa's Dynamic Tactile Array detect forces from 5 millinewtons to 30 newtons with 1 millimeter spatial resolution, while palm and finger electronic skin covers a 0.1–20 newton range at 5 millimeter resolution. IP54-rated dust and splash protection and zero-gap grasping enable handling of slender objects such as chopsticks and fine cords.
AE01 glove captures 22 degrees of freedom for teleoperation and training data
The AE01 haptic exoskeleton glove uses 22 encoders to track joint motion for real-time robot control and demonstration collection. It delivers 256 levels of dynamic vibrotactile feedback per fingertip and fingertip position repeatability under 1 millimeter. The device requires no additional user calibration and is built to resist environmental interference during data capture.
Sharpa is showcasing the three products at Booth 514 in the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh through Sept. 30, 2026. The company's products currently serve robotics firms, research institutions and applications including food service.
