Tokyo – October 19, 2026 -- Trend Micro (TSE: 4704) plans to make available up to ¥10 billion in TrendAI Flex licensing credits under a new Japan Cyber Resilience Initiative, as publicly disclosed cyber incidents in Japan hit 607 in the first nine months of 2026, already above the 594 recorded for all of 2025.
The incident tally comes from TrendAI threat research and is current as of October 9, 2026. Trend Micro notes the figure may change as incidents are disclosed retroactively and further cases are added.
Credits are licensing allowances, not cash grants
The proposed allocation is an aggregate of licensing credits for the TrendAI Vision One platform, designed to help eligible organizations modernize existing security environments. Customers on TrendAI Flex Unlimited will also be able to access additional Vision One capabilities, including AI security innovations. Eligibility criteria, credit allocation, redemption terms, partner participation options and service availability will be announced as the phased rollout proceeds.
Eligible organizations can receive up to 10 days of free professional services
Services will be delivered through Trend Micro's channel partners, systems integrators and managed service providers in Japan. The initial emphasis is on critical infrastructure, major enterprises and the smaller businesses in their supply chains. Requirements for use have not yet been detailed.
TrendAI to deploy forward-deployed engineers and MDR expertise
TrendAI plans to mobilize forward-deployed engineers and technical specialists to assess critical exposures, identify security gaps, prioritize risk reduction and speed deployment of modern security capabilities. Engagements will first prioritize organizations important to national infrastructure, economic activity and interconnected supply chains. Eligible organizations will also be able to explore managed detection and response support for continuous threat monitoring, incident investigation and response.
