SAN FRANCISCO – September 21, 2026 -- Waymo co-CEO Tekedra Mawakana will deliver a keynote at CES 2027, with the company's autonomous vehicles now completing over 500,000 rides every week, the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) announced.
Mawakana will address international expansion and fleet evolution on Jan. 6, 2027
The keynote is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. PST in the Palazzo Ballroom at the Venetian, part of the CES 2027 event running Jan. 6-9 in Las Vegas. CTA President and CEO Kinsey Fabrizio said Waymo is integrating frontier AI and robotics to build the future of mobility.

The company positions its autonomous "Driver" -- described as never tired, distracted or impaired and available 24/7 -- as a response to global road safety. Mawakana said the company is scaling a service designed to give riders a safer, more reliable transportation option.
Las Vegas becomes Waymo's 15th U.S. market ahead of CES
Waymo recently opened its ride-hailing service to public riders in Las Vegas, allowing CES attendees to experience fully autonomous trips during the event. The company will operate a booth, number 3741, in the Las Vegas Convention Center West Hall throughout the four-day conference.
CTA credentials Mawakana as a recognized voice on mobility and AI leadership
Mawakana served on the CTA Board of Industry Leaders from 2019 to 2021 and has been named to the TIME 100 AI list and Forbes' 50 Over 50. She previously spoke at the CES 2025 Leaders in Technology Dinner and has been featured in The New York Times and Vanity Fair.
Stellantis joins the keynote lineup alongside Waymo at CES 2027
CTA Executive Chair Gary Shapiro said Mawakana's leadership reflects innovation that improves lives and shapes policy discussions. The autonomous vehicle stage will also feature automaker Stellantis, according to CTA.
