YFORE Opens Georgia Plant, Launches Anti-Pinch Sensors for US OEMs

SUWANEE, Georgia -- September 01, 2026 -- Tier-1 automotive supplier YFORE Technology has officially opened its manufacturing plant in Suwanee, Georgia, to produce anti-pinch sensor systems for North American automakers. The facility allows YFORE to supply automotive-grade closing sensor systems directly to regional OEMs under nearshore manufacturing, meeting local safety standards. The company said the sensors are already market-proven and now enter serial production at the new site.

Sensors detect contact within 5 milliseconds to stop door movement

YFORE's anti-pinch system uses proprietary touch algorithms with a 5-millisecond detection cycle to identify physical contact on powered doors and hatches. Once contact is detected, the sensor triggers an immediate reversal of door movement or aborts the closing sequence, working alongside the vehicle motor's torque feedback to create a two-stage protection mechanism. The company positions this response speed for use across electrically powered side doors, trunk lids and smart tailgates now common on connected vehicles.

Flexible sensor strips cover full sealing edges with no blind spots

The sensor strips are built for aerodynamic and structural integration along the entire sealing edges of powered side doors, trunk lids and tailgates, according to YFORE. Compact control units sit directly inside door interior panels rather than as separate external components, the company said.

System posts 99.9% activation success rate under IP67 certification

YFORE reported an activation success rate above 99.9% and a false-trigger rate below 0.5% for the sensor system. The IP67-certified hardware is built to withstand extreme weather, car washes and temperature fluctuations, the company said. The system supports both traditional hard-wiring and CAN FD communication, along with over-the-air software updates for ongoing diagnostic improvements.

YFORE supplies more than 30 automakers across three continents

YFORE works with more than 30 leading automakers worldwide and maintains operations across North America, Europe and Asia. The company's product lines cover smart access, smart mirror and smart sensing categories for automotive electronics. The Suwanee plant marks YFORE's move to combine tactile sensor technology with nearshore production capacity aimed at software-defined and smart vehicle architectures.
