SUWANEE, Ga. -- September 01, 2026 -- YFORE Technology unveiled an expanded ultra-wideband (UWB) radar sensor portfolio at its Suwanee, Georgia facility on August 31, 2026. The automotive Tier 1 supplier said the system achieves a life-detection rate above 99% for in-cabin monitoring, with signal leakage through windows kept below 20 cm. YFORE positioned the technology across four vehicle functions: cabin safety, vehicle access, perimeter security and automated parking, built on proprietary high-precision algorithms rather than optical line-of-sight sensors.

In-cabin radar hits sub-13-second response time under Euro NCAP standard

YFORE's in-cabin monitoring system uses high-penetration pulse signals to detect minimal breathing and confirm child presence detection (CPD) without relying on cameras. The company reported a response time under 13 seconds, meeting Euro NCAP safety benchmarks, while keeping false alarms low through the sub-20 cm signal leakage threshold. A parallel occupant detection system calculates spatial coordinates for multiple targets inside the vehicle, reporting exact passenger counts to support emergency call response. YFORE also showed an occupant and driver monitoring system (ODMS) that pairs radar with smart rearview mirrors to remove visual blind spots behind the seats.

Kick-sensor access reaches 98% activation rate in wet conditions

Outside the cabin, YFORE's kick-sensor access system enables hands-free tailgate opening with an activation rate above 98% and a false-alarm rate below 0.5% during rain, car washes or animal movement near the vehicle. A separate intrusion detection function monitors side windows and the tailgate, issuing instant alerts for unauthorized access attempts. A low-power sentinel mode uses proximity radar to activate energy-intensive cameras only when triggered, cutting up to 2 kWh of overnight power draw per vehicle.

Bumper-integrated parking radar replaces ultrasonic sensors

YFORE's parking assistance system identifies parallel, perpendicular and angled spaces while detecting low-profile obstacles and filtering out ground-level debris. The radar operates behind bumper panels, eliminating the visible sensor holes required by conventional ultrasonic parking systems and keeping the exterior surface uninterrupted.
