Colossal's GenoMorph AI flags 2,300 dodo beak-linked DNA targets

Dallas – October 14, 2026 -- Colossal Biosciences has unveiled GenoMorph, an in-house AI platform that identified an estimated 2,300 candidate regulatory DNA elements linked to avian beak size and shape, giving its dodo de-extinction program a prioritized list of targets for experimental testing.

GenoMorph finds 653 beak-size and 1,698 beak-thickness candidates

The platform combines comparative genomics, developmental biology and high-resolution 3D morphology to predict which regulatory elements are active during development. It then ranks those most strongly associated with differences in physical form. Regulatory DNA controls when, where and how strongly genes are activated, and it helps shape traits such as skull and beak structure.

TrueLoyal Opens Loyalty Data to AI Assistants via MCP Beta

San Antonio – October 14, 2026 -- TrueLoyal has launched a beta of its Model Context Protocol (MCP) connector, letting loyalty teams query member and transaction data from the AI assistant of their choice and get answers in the same conversation, without a reporting ticket.

The beta is live for select Rewards customers. General availability is scheduled for later this year.

TrueLoyal MCP replaces ticket-and-wait reporting with plain-language queries

Loyalty teams typically get program answers through dashboards and reporting requests. A question about which members are lapsing, or how many members a brand can email, usually means a ticket, a data pull and a wait. By the time the answer arrives, the moment to act has often passed, according to TrueLoyal.

Markham – October 14, 2026 -- Seven transit operators in Ventura County, California, now run on a single coordinated open-loop payment program built by Enghouse Transportation & Public Safety with the California Integrated Travel Project (Cal-ITP).

Riders tap existing contactless cards across all seven operators

Passengers can use the contactless credit or debit card already in their wallet on participating services. The system calculates the correct fare automatically at each tap.

The program builds on the first Enghouse open-loop payment deployment with the Ventura County Transportation Commission (VCTC).

Regional fare capping treats the network as one transit system

Customers who transfer between participating operators receive applicable fare benefits as though the network were a single system. Cal-ITP also supports reduced fares for eligible riders across all seven operators.

Aurora Board Rejects Revised Curaleaf Bid, Opens Strategic Review

Edmonton – October 14, 2026 -- Aurora Cannabis' board unanimously recommended that shareholders reject Curaleaf Holdings' revised hostile offer, which remains open until December 4, 2026, and said its special committee is actively exploring alternatives, including a deal with one or more third parties.

The recommendation, made on the unanimous advice of a special committee of independent directors, responds to the Notice of Variation, Change and Extension that Curaleaf filed on October 6, 2026. Aurora's financial advisor delivered an updated opinion concluding that the revised consideration is inadequate, from a financial point of view, to Aurora shareholders.

Board says revised offer shifts risk and cost onto Aurora shareholders

Aurora argues that the increase in consideration consists principally of Curaleaf shares at an inflated valuation. Aurora shareholders would therefore stay fully exposed to any decline in the Curaleaf share price.

Trenchless Drilling Cuts Albany Utility Project Restoration Costs

Albany – October 14, 2026 -- Trenchless drilling can cost more upfront than traditional excavation, but savings often follow from reduced labor, shorter timelines and less restoration work, according to a HelloNation article featuring David Allegretta of JAT Construction in Albany, N.Y.

Open trenches disrupt roads, sidewalks and nearby infrastructure

Traditional excavation relies on open trenches to reach pipes and cables. The article says the method works but can delay active projects and add costs. It remains suitable for simpler jobs or sites with fewer surface constraints, where it can be cost-effective.

The company has a 180-calendar-day compliance period. If the closing bid price reaches at least US$1.00 for a minimum of ten consecutive business days within that window, Nasdaq will confirm compliance in writing and close the matter.
