Nashville, Tenn. – September 24, 2026 -- Bridgestone Americas has signed a three-year agreement with the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA), becoming the organization's Official Tire and the sole tire supplier for the SCCA Club Spec program.
Potenza RE-71RZ becomes spec tire across Club Spec classes
Bridgestone's Potenza RE-71RZ, a 200TW summer performance tire built for grassroots racing, will equip Solo Spec Coupe, Club Spec MX-5 and Club Spec Mustang classes. The tire will also serve as the official spec tire for the new Club Spec Cayman class set to launch in 2027.
Bridgestone Potenza tires dominated 2026 SCCA Solo season
Across the 2026 SCCA Solo season, Bridgestone Potenza tires captured 75% of class wins (more than 350) and 70% of class podiums, along with top index honors at 21 of 24 national events. The tires accounted for 70% of eligible entries among more than 3,300 competitors during the season.
Potenza tires took 80% of the field at Solo National Championships
At the SCCA Solo National Championships, the world's largest grassroots motorsports event, Bridgestone Potenza tires earned 55% of total entries (732 entries) and 80% of the field in eligible street tire classes (729 of 908 drivers). The tires won 36 of 41 classes, or 88%, and earned 103 trophies while setting the event's top overall index time by 0.7 seconds.
Time trial results extend Bridgestone's grassroots motorsports record
In SCCA time trials during the 2026 National Tour season, Bridgestone tires captured 97% of podium finishes, including 38 class wins, and set 19 class lap records.
David Colletti, President of Consumer Original Equipment Tires, North America at Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations, said the partnership furthers the company's investment in the racing community while enabling it to deliver Potenza performance weekly. Heyward Wagner, SCCA's Vice President of Rally, Solo and Experiential Programs, noted that Bridgestone previously supported SCCA Solo competitors 20 years ago, generating renewed interest in the reunited partnership.
Deal extends to Track Night in America and Women on Track programs
The agreement will support SCCA initiatives including Track Night in America, which provides track access to drivers of varying skill levels, and SCCA Women on Track, aimed at expanding female participation in grassroots motorsports.
