Eagleview Scales Disaster Response as Billion-Dollar Events Triple

Rochester, N.Y. – October 27, 2026 -- Eagleview has responded to 17 severe weather events across 10 U.S. states since December 2025, as its Disaster Response Program (DRP) marks 25 years amid a sharp rise in billion-dollar climate disasters.

U.S. disaster counts run 2-3x above the long-term average

The U.S. recorded 28 major climate disasters in 2023, 17 in 2024 and 21 in 2025. NOAA puts the long-term average at roughly nine. Each of these events costs roughly $1 billion, and many, including forest fires, cost far more.

Even in years with fewer predicted weather events, organizations remain exposed to elevated risk from any single event.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – October 27, 2026 -- Eagleview's AI-powered Horizon platform completed portfolio-wide wildfire damage assessments in minutes that previously took weeks, the company said at its Property Claims Leadership Forum in Half Moon Bay, where it also released a white paper on AI-driven underwriting and claims.

Catastrophe frequency has more than doubled the long-term average

The U.S. averaged 23 weather and climate disasters per year over the past five years, each costing more than $1 billion in claims, according to NOAA. The long-term average is about nine. Global insured catastrophe losses reached $107 billion in 2025, per Swiss Re, and have risen 5-7% a year in real terms over the long run. Wildfires, storms and floods accounted for a record 92% of the 2025 total, and wildfire is the fastest-growing risk, with insured losses climbing an estimated 12% a year.

United States – October 27, 2026 -- Eagleview's aerial-derived property data now runs in more than 500 live integrations, with developers using it for online quoting, lead enrichment and pre-inspection tools across roofing, solar, building materials and property & casualty insurance.

A single address lookup or API call can return roof geometry, pitch and area, material type, condition score, age estimate, solar panel presence, structural characteristics, and risk scores for hazards such as hail and wildfire.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – October 27, 2026 -- Eagleview told emergency managers that a below-average 2026 Atlantic hurricane season does not mean low risk, pointing to 1992, when six named storms still produced Hurricane Andrew and $27.3 billion in damage. The geospatial intelligence (GeoAI) provider issued a preparedness briefing after NOAA, Colorado State University and AccuWeather all projected a below-average season.

Andrew destroyed more than 63,000 homes in one of the quietest seasons on record

The 1992 season's six named storms compare with a 30-year average of 14.4. Andrew, a Category 5 storm, destroyed more than 63,000 homes in South Florida. Eagleview puts the damage at about $67 billion in 2026 dollars.

Robert Locke, President of Eagleview's Government business unit, said, "It only takes one storm to create a catastrophe." He added that the agencies responding best are those that prepared before the first advisory.

Event targets government, GIS and infrastructure users

Futureview East is aimed at government, GIS, assessment, public safety, public works and infrastructure professionals. Eagleview lists assessment and appraisal staff, GIS leaders, emergency response teams, IT and data leaders, department heads and agency executives among intended attendees.

The program centers on expert-led training, product deep dives, workflow innovation, and customer and sponsor presentations, according to Eagleview's March 2026 announcement. Sessions focus on practical use of imagery, software and geospatial data.

Louisville – October 27, 2026 -- Eagleview has named Gregory Robinson, former director of NASA's James Webb Space Telescope Program, as keynote speaker for Futureview East 2026, which runs September 22–25, 2026, at the Louisville Marriott Downtown.

Robinson is a 33-year NASA veteran. NASA announced in 2022 that he had been named to the TIME100 list for his leadership of the Webb program.

Robinson led Webb through delays and cost challenges

Before its launch and deployment, the Webb program faced intense scrutiny over delays, cost challenges and operational complexity. Robinson is credited with helping turn the program around and improving its efficiency. His keynote will address leadership, innovation and resilience in guiding complex missions through change.

Eagleview: Insurers Should Target Pre-Deployment Intelligence, Not Cost Cuts

Eagleview: Insurers Should Target Pre-Deployment Intelligence, Not Cost Cuts

Global – October 27, 2026 -- Eagleview, which has supplied aerial imagery and property intelligence to insurers for more than two decades, argues that carriers should measure operational efficiency by how much they know before sending anyone into the field, not by expense reduction alone. Patrick Gill, the company's Senior Vice President and General Manager for Insurance & Commercial Solutions, outlines the case in a new commentary.

AI queries compress weeks of data science work into minutes

Gill says AI lets carriers merge large volumes of disparate data and query it in natural language within minutes. Claims leaders can ask which older roofs sit inside a hail path, which insured properties were already deteriorating before a storm, and where experienced adjusters should deploy first. He says these decisions directly affect claim severity, customer satisfaction and operating expense.

Eagleview Brings 2D-to-3D Roof Pitch Editor Into Xactimate

United States – October 27, 2026 -- Eagleview's 2D-to-3D pitch editor is now available directly inside Xactimate®, letting roofers and property claims adjusters build 3D roof sketches from a single entered pitch without leaving their estimating platform.

Single pitch input generates a full 3D roof sketch

Users add pitch information to a 2D roof diagram and convert it into a 3D sketch. Only one roof pitch must be entered. The tool calculates additional pitches automatically to complete the model.

Eagleview introduced the pitch editor for cases where a roof exists as a 2D diagram but the estimate requires a 3D sketch.
