Boston – September 28, 2026 -- Duck Creek has made Agentic First Notice of Loss (FNOL) available to early access customers, an AI-driven tool designed to automate claims intake across digital, voice-to-text, and mobile channels.
Agentic AI agents verify coverage and flag anomalies before an adjuster opens the file
Built on the Duck Creek Agentic AI Platform, the solution uses orchestrated AI agents to capture, validate, enrich, and route claims in real time. From the first description of a loss, the system verifies coverage, assesses injury and legal severity, and cross-references reported circumstances, images, and policy data to surface inconsistencies without manual data entry.
Claimants can report losses in natural language instead of rigid forms
The digital experience allows claimants to describe a loss in their own words; the system determines follow-up questions and produces a structured, adjuster-ready claim file within seconds. Jose Lazares, Chief Product Officer at Duck Creek, said the solution replaces fragmented, manual intake with an intelligent process that verifies coverage and identifies issues early, giving claims teams more capacity for decisions with the highest customer impact.
Celent projects 22% of insurers will deploy agentic AI by end of 2026
Celent's most recent annual survey on generative AI usage in insurance found that 22% of participating insurers plan to have an agentic AI solution in place by the end of 2026, with claims and underwriting expected to lead adoption.
Google Cloud's Gemini models power intake and fraud-detection capabilities
Developed in collaboration with Google Cloud, Agentic FNOL supports policy and coverage verification, conversational intake across channels, data validation, intelligent triage and routing based on carrier-defined workflows, and early fraud and anomaly detection. Every AI-driven determination is logged, with exceptions flagged for human review.
Solution integrates with Duck Creek Claims and third-party core systems
Agentic FNOL is designed to work with Duck Creek Claims while also supporting third-party core system environments, allowing insurers to adopt agentic capabilities without replacing existing technology investments. Ella Jurotte, Senior Director of Product Management at Duck Creek, said enrichment begins the moment a loss is reported, so coverage is verified and claims are routed to the right next step before an adjuster opens the file.
The product joins Duck Creek's existing agentic portfolio, which includes Agentic Underwriting and Agentic Product Configurator, extending governed automation across underwriting, policy, billing, claims, and payment workflows.
