Uniondale, N.Y. – – September 12, 2026 -- Greenberg Traurig, LLP has added Jennifer Polovetsky as a shareholder in its New York City and Long Island offices, deepening the firm's real estate practice with more than two decades of eminent domain and complex transactional experience.
Polovetsky joins from Duane Morris with a track record in high-value New York property deals
She represented the seller in New York City's approximately $122 million acquisition of 14 Bronx properties designated for conversion into permanent affordable and supportive housing. She also advised the seller on a roughly $74 million property sale to New York City for supportive housing purposes.
Firm cites growing demand for condemnation and infrastructure-related legal work
Long Island Co-Managing Shareholder John P. McEntee said Polovetsky's experience spans acquisitions, dispositions, condemnation proceedings and litigation, strengthening the firm's capacity to handle increasingly complex development and infrastructure matters. Her client base includes property owners, developers, utilities, telecommunications companies and municipalities involved in condemnation proceedings and commercial and multifamily real estate transactions.
Former city attorney brings municipal-side eminent domain expertise
Before entering private practice, Polovetsky served as an assistant corporation counsel with the New York City Law Department, representing the city in eminent domain and property tax matters. She has since advised clients on transactions involving New York City agencies and major public infrastructure projects, and is a frequent author and speaker on eminent domain and land valuation issues.
Global Real Estate Practice Co-Chair Stephen L. Rabinowitz said the hire widens the firm's suite of real estate-related services as it seeks talent aligned with its collaborative, client-focused approach. Polovetsky said the move allows her to expand client services while collaborating with colleagues across municipal law, construction, environmental and land use practice areas.
Polovetsky earned her J.D. from New York Law School and her B.A. from Lafayette College. She is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey.
