Hollywood, Fla. – October 01, 2026 -- Memorial Healthcare System has appointed Madison Workman, FACHE, as chief executive officer of Memorial Hospital Pembroke, a 301-bed facility in Pembroke Pines, placing him in charge of operations and growth strategy at the hospital.
Workman Previously Oversaw $100 Million in Capital Projects at Broward Health North
Workman joins from Broward Health North, a 409-bed Level II trauma hospital, where he served as chief operating officer managing roughly 800 employees across clinical and support services. He expanded his role to lead the systemwide Safety and Security program and the COO Council, while helping direct more than $100 million in construction and capital investment focused on patient throughput and hospital expansion.
Prior Roles Included Oversight of $750 Million Operating Budget Across Five Hospitals
During his tenure at Tenet Healthcare, Workman held strategic and operational oversight across five Miami-Dade hospitals representing more than 1,700 beds and a $750 million operating budget. He also served as chief operating officer of HCA Florida University Hospital, where the facility achieved the No. 1 patient experience ranking in its division and the 88th percentile nationally per Press Ganey rankings, alongside gains in employee engagement and surgical volume.
Memorial Hospital Pembroke Operates Two Satellite Emergency Rooms
Memorial Hospital Pembroke oversees Memorial's Red Road ER and Douglas Road ER, extending hospital-level emergency care into South Broward and northwest Miami-Dade. The hospital's service lines include bariatric surgery, endocrinology, stroke care, hernia surgery and wound care.
Shane Strum, president and CEO of Memorial Healthcare System, said Workman has a track record of translating strategy into measurable operational results. Workman has been a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives since 2021 and sits on the board of ACHE of South Florida, which awarded him its Service Leadership Award in 2022 and 2025.
