Salem – October 15, 2026 -- Agility Robotics' Digit 5 humanoid will run more than 20 hours in a 24-hour day, enabled by a fast-recharge battery system from Nyobolt, the companies announced. The pack delivers 90 minutes of runtime and recharges in 9 minutes.
Digit 5 raises its run-to-charge ratio from 2:1 to 10:1
Digit 4 operated at a 2:1 run-to-charge ratio. Digit 5 reaches 10:1, which Agility says allows more than two shifts in a single day. Agility describes Digit 5 as its first humanoid designed for cooperatively safe work at scale, close to people.
Daniel Diez, Chief Business Officer of Agility, said "Digit's uptime is the business case." He argued that the added hours improve both the value customers get and the economics of deploying a humanoid fleet.
Nyobolt targets downtime as the constraint on robot fleet economics
Nyobolt's battery combines fast charging, long cycle life and lower system weight. According to the companies, it removes the power bottleneck that has historically limited autonomous robot fleet economics. Agility targets warehouse, distribution and manufacturing operators.
Nyobolt CEO and co-founder Sai Shivareddy said Digit 5 needs more power from a smaller, lighter pack for live warehouse and manufacturing environments. He said Agility set a high bar for what the battery must withstand.
Early access to Digit 5 starts in the first half of 2027
Early access to Digit 5 with the Nyobolt battery is expected in the first half of 2027. Availability for manufacturing, warehouse and distribution operators is due to increase over the following six to nine months.
